Hand-washable Cashmere-Silk Yarn
Silk is normally heavy and lacks loft, but by applying E-FILU to silk-spun yarn, SPUMA 55 achieves both volume and a subtle sheen, even with a 50/50 cashmere-silk blend, producing a lightweight, lofty yarn. The name SPUMA comes from the Latin spumae, meaning “foam.” This blend combines cashmere’s lightness and soft touch with silk’s smoothness and elegant luster, creating a richly textured yarn reminiscent of champagne bubbles—light, airy, and refined. From a sustainability perspective, silk spun from unreeled cocoons and kibiso (raw silk skins) is environmentally friendly. Using these materials, TOYOBOSHI leverages its cashmere spinning expertise to create this luxurious blended yarn.

Recommended Milling Process
Pre-washing → Washing → Rinsing → Milling → Softening → Spin-drying → Drying
Temperature 36 – 42oC
Detergent Anionic detergent (solution of 2 g/litre)
Bath ratio 1: 20
Spin-drying 160％
Drying Natural Drying (Tumble Dry may be applied at the initial stage to smooth out creases. 55ºC – 3 min. )
To account for potential variations in results based on equipment and yarn tension, we strongly recommend conducting a sample trial before initiating actual production.

Use a mesh laundry bag when washing by hand.
Do not iron directly.
