Cashmere fiber is the downy undercoat of the cashmere goat (Capra hircus laniger), raised in the inland highlands and mountainous regions of Asia, where seasonal temperature differences are extreme.
The quality of raw cashmere varies greatly depending on the breed and the region in which goats are raised. They endure harsh climates, with winter temperatures dropping to –30 to –40°C and summer temperatures exceeding 30°C, creating extreme seasonal contrasts. The harsher the environment, the finer the fibers produced.
At TOYOBOSHI, we believe that identifying the regions where superior breeds thrive is key to sourcing the finest cashmere. Drawing on our many decades of experience, we focus procurement primarily on Inner Mongolia, ensuring a stable supply of fibers that are fine, long, white, and silky. Using only raw materials that meet the world’s highest standards, we carefully craft each thread through every stage—dyeing, spinning, and twisting—guided by traditional craftsmanship.
